The Client
Bay State Machine Co. is a family owned and operated business, founded in 1977 by Frank J. Basile.
Bay State Machine contracts their services to a wide variety of industries, including automotive, computer, food, medical, government, law enforcement and sporting ordnance. They are committed to manufacturing quality parts with on time deliveries.
Recently, Bay State Machine purchased and renovated a 15,000 square foot facility in Easthampton's Industrial Park. Having room to expand, Bay State Machine added another 15,000 square feet with a state-of-the-art air quality control system. The best part about the new move to Easthampton, Massachusetts, aside from the clean, modern facility, is that there is still more room to grow.
The Challenge
Bay State Machine Co. came to us with one goal in mind: to create a web presence for their company. This new web presence had to incorporate a professional design that would appeal to their target audience such as commercial, government, retail and subcontractor groups.
Bay State Machine Co.'s new web presence will attract new customers, generate qualified leads and increase interest in their company.
The Result
Tortus, using XHTML and CSS, created a clean, professional, modern design for Bay State Machine Co.'s core group of customers. We also created a content management system (CMS) using Ruby on Rails, which allows Bay State Machine to easily edit the content and images within their site.
Tortus also created a secure job application area with the specific ability to upload a cover letter and resume, which both emails Bay State Machine Co. and saves each application in a secure database for later retrieval.
In order to meet the goal of increasing interest in the company, Tortus created a news and press area. Bay State Machine can add press releases and news items relevant to their business and industry. This area, when updated frequently, will allow Bay State Machine Co. to establish a competitive position within their industry.
Finally, to help improve brand recognition, Tortus created an email signup for Bay State Machine to build a customer email marketing list. Utilizing this list by sending relevant information will help Bay State Machine Co. remain top-of-mind for potential and current customers.
