Cherish Every Child

Cherish Every Child is a Springfield, Massachusetts-based non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of children ages birth to five and their families through literacy initiatives. Cherish Every Child’s goal is to ensure that children happily and preparedly enter kindergarten with the skills to succeed.

Cherish Every Child was referred to Tortus Technologies by a satisfied client. Through a discovery meeting, it was collaboratively identified that Cherish needed to contemporize their website design, improve the navigation, add and edit content, and gain administrative control over their website.

Using images from a Springfield-based children's photo project, Tortus created a website focused on Cherish's initiative: Springfield's children. Utilizing Ruby on Rails, XHTML, and CSS, Tortus created a modern, professional website design with features such as photo galleries, a news area, and an email signup. Tortus also implemented multiple content management systems, allowing Cherish's administrators to easily keep the site current and complete with information.

Tortus' broadcast email template and system allows Cherish to keep their members and community routinely informed and up-to-date on the latest news, reports, and events.
