Flag Fables
The Client
Flag Fables sells quality printed and appliqué flags, flagpoles, mailbox covers and accessories for flag flyers across the country. Flag Fables also maintains a retail location in Springfield, Massachusetts with hundreds of items in stock. Flag Fables has worked with Tortus towards business solutions on numerous projects over the last several years.
The Challenge
Flag Fables needed an updated e-commerce system that would run more quickly and be easier for customers to use. Because of the high volume of business conducted on the site an updated redesign was necessary to make the site more secure, easier for users to follow through and overall, a more pleasant shopping experience.
The Result
By creating an up-to-date e-commerce system, Tortus improved Flag Fables with many new features. Tortus implemented use of Authorize.net to help secure the credit card system in the shopping cart which allows users to shop without the risk of identity theft. A redesign made the whole site load more quickly than before and the new navigation makes a more visual and straight forward approach to shopping. With an upgraded Content Management System in Ruby on Rails, the new site also allows the client more flexibility when updating the home page and product catalog. Increased text content on the new site will also make for better search engine results. The new site maintains all of the positive features of the old site while adding newer features to make the site easier for both our client and the users.
