Hotel Northampton

The Hotel Northampton, built by Lewis Wiggins in 1927, is a wonderful example of Colonial Revival style, with period antiques that grace the establishment and a historical ambiance throughout. The hotel has been host to visitors from around the world and is an ideal setting for weddings, parties, meetings, and other events. The Hotel Northampton needed a new website that would illuminate its history, provide information regarding its accommodations, and describe the many things for guests to do during their stay. Even more importantly, the hotel wanted to focus on web-specific strategies to encourage online reservations, gather emails for its broadcast email campaign, and give their target audience a sense of the high quality of the hotel’s accommodations through slideshow images and photo galleries.

Tortus Technologies developed a new site for Hotel Northampton that includes extensive, yet well-organized, information along with a full-site content management system that allows the hotel to update, change, and add information at any time. In visual terms, the new website conveys the old-world elegance of the hotel while still being highly accessible. Artistic yet readable script-style fonts and hues of sage green and cranberry emphasize Hotel Northampton’s branding and are well-conveyed in the web format. Google Translate has been installed on the site to allow international visitors to view the site in the language of their choice. Hotel Northampton also opted to utilize Mercury, Tortus' broadcast email program, for email marketing to new and returning guests.
