NESA, or New England School of Acupuncture, is an educational institution offering masters degrees in the field of acupuncture and oriental medicine. Accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine through the year 2015, NESA offers a unique learning experience for future acupuncturists through the use of classroom education, clinical internships and diagnostic training.
Tortus' project with NESA began with integrating a design created by an agency from Boston, MA. In working with the agency, NESA was able to mirror their printed materials to maintain the NESA brand consistency. To ensure relevant branding on the site, Tortus created a custom content management system (CMS) for NESA to edit the image headers on sections and pages, so that NESA can update individual images as they see fit. Tortus then took the agency design and integrated it with the programming structure of the site, creating a fully functional AND eye-pleasing website for New England School of Acupuncture.
NESA was looking to redesign their website in order to show the strengths in their curriculum and clinical opportunities to prospective students, while also proudly showcasing their academic reputation. To meet those goals, Tortus created a custom content management system (CMS) so NESA could highlight success stories and testimonials from various students, teachers, clinical practitioners and graduates. To further "future-proof" the NESA brand, they are able to add or remove these as students and teachers leave to pursue other opportunities.
Speaking of graduates, the New England School of Acupuncture wanted to continue to serve and support their alumni in their acupuncture careers through the use of alumni listings, job and opportunity listings and a section, which highlights the benefits of being a NESA graduate. In addition to the above, Tortus created a robust system for NESA that allows alumni to sign in and manage their own personal data.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the Tortus CMS (content management system) allows NESA to create featured course listings in addition to the general course listing, which allows Continuing Education students to enroll in classes over the web. This enables NESA to save time and money by scheduling courses for the Continuing Education division virtually, and provides Continuing Education students an easy, convenient way to register for classes.
