Wendy Diamond, owner of Flag Fables, a retailer of decorative flags and mailbox covers, was recently featured in USA Today. Wendy has been a long time client of Tortus Technologies.
USA Today tapped Wendy to offer her opinion on the impact the holidays has on her personal life. The following excerpt is Wendy's contribution to the article, which can be found here.
Wendy Diamond, owner of a retail store in Springfield, Mass., and the decorative flag website flagfables.com, is working 12-hour days with no time off on weekends. She says having an "understanding husband" and grown children helps, but having a retail store also means things won't slow until Christmas Eve.
"I am not complaining. Everything is going very well," says Diamond. "'Tis the season to be busy."
How did Wendy and her business receive a mention in a national publication? "I signed up to be on a small-business panel for USA Today. Occasionally they email with questions, so I answered it." (You can find a sign-up form for USA Today's Small Business Connection here (link no longer available).)
"I'm always open to a marketing opportunity," Wendy explains. "The best advice I can give is this: if a reporter calls for your opinion, talk to them. It can't hurt."
