A QR Code is a matrix code (or two-dimensional bar code) that is currently being used as a marketing tool to direct smartphone and mobile device users to private webpages containing promotions, events or information. Created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994, the "QR" is derived from "Quick Response", as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed. The easily identifiable code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background and can be encoded into text, URL or other data. So, how do you get on the QR train?
